The best possible deal on a 686 jacket is definitely the 686 Militant Jacket. You can pick it up for less than $80. This shell has camo print with light and dark brown set against a gray. It has a dull tropical look with some of the patterns spreading out in a palm treeish fashion.

It has a semi-tight fit, but is loose enough to pack your all your crap. It even has an internal Ipod pocket and stow away pouch for cash, credits cards and IDs.

Its somewhat waterproof with a rating of 8000mm. The breath-ability is rated at 5000gm. I don’t exactly know what that means. The seams are also taped to keep the moisture out and if you get too hot there are adjustable vents in the armpits.

The pockets are specially insulated to keep your hands warm when the gloves come off and the chin guard will make sure your neck stays dry and keep snow off your upper chest and nipple regions.
